The duo of Travis Stewart and Praveen Sharma have been mighty busy, prepping their live shows and traveling all around the world in preparation for their self-titled debut LP release on Hotflush. While the dudes have been busy wowing crowds and carefully crafting all the elements together for their live A/V show, they’ve also been going on mini-adventures, checking out what’s around them with open minds (and stomachs). URB asked Sepalcure to give us an exclusive tour diary of their latest European tour, as well as their live A/V debut in Mexico City. Praveen kindly obliged, and down below, he gives URB the skinny on all things crazy, cool and vivid. Check out the diary, the photos and the exclusive behind-the-scenes video after the jump.

Well, it came and went just like that. CMJ 2011 was an interesting marathon of music and events to say the least, sprouting sprinkles of interesting parties, media-sponsored bonanzas that were “too exclusive” for other outlets to cover, and showcases that covered acts in the worlds of hip-hop, indie and trash maybe all too much. While CMJ was business as usual for some media (and of course college radio stations), it provided a very sobering look into how things have changed for the marathon festival. Whether it be the economy or the current musical business climate, CMJ did feel more segmented than ever before. Regardless, there were some definite highlights and lowlights from the fest. Check them out after the jump.

The cross-continental production duo of Travis Stewart and Praveen Sharma are once again heading off to another country to smash it, with love, of course. Fresh off a buzzed-about performance at Unsound Festival 2011 in Krakow, Poland, Sepalcure are ready to crush it south of the border this time around. The twosome will be performing at Mutek_MX (Mexico), an event coordinated by Sony as well as the organizers of Mutek Festival, held annually in Montreal. In addition to that, this will be the first time the duo will be doing a live A/V set, accompanied by the visuals of Sougwen Chung, who has done art for all the Sepalcure releases to date. The duo will check in with URB occasionally, as they’re providing us with an exclusive tour diary. The diary will ultimately lead to their live A/V set in New York (tickets can be bough here), accompanied by Warp’s Africa Hitech doing an exclusive and rare set in the States.
So to celebrate all these great things happening to one of our favorite acts at the moment, Sepalcure is giving everyone on the internet a free download. Check out the link to “I’m Alright” after the jump.

URB is entering the belly of the beast that is New York City’s CMJ this week with massive excitement and pseudo-lofty expectations. With what seems like thousands of acts coming to NYC to strut their stuff, one has to wade through all the calamity to find the acts that are truly bringing about proper buzz. So it might take ages to find that awesome DJ, that crazy live performance artist, or that freakishly impressive indie band, but after some fine-tooth combing, but in due time it’ll all be revealed. In order to save some time, (and fumbling through the CMJ guidebook), here’s URB top picks to check out at CMJ 2011.
