Premier :: M.I.A. “Internet Connection” (Huoratron Remix) (MP3)

M.I.A. made a lot of waves last year with her violent video for “Born Free.” Finish producer Huoratron is no stranger to edgy videos. His clip for “Corporate Occult” added sex to the blood for one disturbing clip. Maybe that’s one reason why Ms. Maya signed off on his remix of “Internet Connection,” a bonus track off of her third album, /\/\/\Y/\. Or maybe she just liked his dirty-dirty electro stylings.

Mr. Oizo ‘Rubber’ Film Poster

Beyond being one of the best french techno/electro producers to come out the past decade, Quentin Dupieux has builts up quite the IMDB listing as well. His most recent film,  Rubber, features music by Oizo and Gaspard Auge from Justice, which pretty much makes it the most-blogable-thing-EVER. It also features a murderous rubber tire, which kinda makes sense from a guy who turned a banal felt puppet Flat Eric into an iconic ’90s aberration.

Here’s a sampleing of the soundtrack composed by Oizo and Auge, followed by a clip from the film. You can see the whole flick On-Demand February 25 and in very cool theaters April 1.

Gil Scott-Heron x Jamie xx – “I’ll Take Care Of You” (MP3)

No Tags

Few releases scheduled for 2011 have us as excited as the collaboration between spoken-word/jazz legend (and Best International Newcomer Brit Award nominee) Gil Scott-Heron and The xx programmer turned fave remixer Jamie xx. Following “New York Is Killing Me” which we got a taste of in Novemenber, here’s the second song leaked off of the complete remix album Jamie has created for Heron’s 2010 release I’m New Here. The version of “I’ll Take Care Of You” is the closest Jamies has come to the sound of The xx (at least the first third of the tune), great news for their legions of fans.

Ulysses – “Acid Reflux” EP (MP3)

The Rapture have been pretty quiet the past few years, with the exception of a still awesome live show delivered this past summer in LA. But the group’s side label, Throne of Blood, has been quietly releasing dance floor brilliance all along. The latest is an EP from long-time NYC electro delegate Ulysses, who offers up all shades of acid on this EP with a title so obvious it’s amazong more folks haven’t used it.
