If it’s possible to be simultaneously ultra-laidback and hard-rocking, Earl Greyhound manages. They’re perfect for a rainy set, so that when you sweat it out to their soul-stirring tunes, the rain cleanses you. Props to them for independently releasing their second studio album “Suspicious Package” without a record label altogether and takin’ it straight to the people. ‘Love their 70’s vibe with a twist of new-millennium techno-democracy.
The best and worst of human nature can rear their twin heads at any time, maybe especially so at festivals. Camp Bisco has a reputation, and it’s often overlooked in the pantheon of festivals; a gem to those who take ownership of it as “their festival” and who’d just as soon you don’t know and don’t come to the party, thank you very much. It’s intimate like that, private and a little “just for us” to 15,000 people. That could be about to change as people in the northeast wake up, and realize what they’ve been missing right there on their doorstep.
