Celeste has experience in nearly every field in the music industry: Starting out in the marketing department for the Target Corporation, she moved on to work for the Guthrie Theatre, Minnesota Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic/Hollywood Bowl. She's owned and operated 3 boutique PR & Marketing firms & was one of the individuals who ran Modular Records in the US, and has worked for Kill Rock Stars/5RC & File 13 Records. She's written and photographed for many publications such as this fine publication - URB Magazine, and others like BPM Magazine, Chord Magazine, City Pages, and Pulse of the Twin Cities; was a former editor at Law Of Inertia Magazine (now known as Death + Taxes); & was featured in Venus Magazine & named as one of the "30 Under 30" by UR Chicago Magazine in 2006. Today, she manages DJs Richie Panic, Ana Calderon and photographer Rolling Blackouts, tinkers in graphic/web design, & continues to produce music marketing programs for many brands, including Los Angeles venue The Satellite and one of the world's leading athletic footwear brands, ASICS & Onitsuka Tiger.

Win tickets to Wednesday’s Simian Mobile Disco show @ The Mayan!!

So… Hopefully one of your cool friends has already told you that the upcoming Simian Mobile Disco show at the Mayan Theatre is one not to be missed.  SMD have been producing original material together since ‘05, they’ve also worked with some of music’s heavy hitters such as Muse, Klaxons, Bjørk, and Peahces (to name a few).  Tracks from their sophomore album Temporary Pleasures provide plenty of futuristic beats that will be sure to please the crowd.  Make sure to catch them at their only Los Angeles appearance, East Coast party-starters JDH & Dave P will be spinning, and our very own Ana Calderon is kickin’ it off – trust us – you don’t want to be left out of this dance party.

Gobble Gobble Give! (Video)

If you’re in L.A. – you might have heard of Gobble Gobble Give. It started with one person, Echo Park resident Barry Walker, who cooked and delivered Turkey Day meals to the homeless in his neighborhood… and now a group of friends in Echo Park have shown up to help cook and deliver meals for the past 10 years – the first year, 28 homeless were fed! The next year more showed up and over fifty meals went out. The following year, we reached the 100 mark and last year we were able to feed over 1,500 homeless in our neighborhood and leave them with t-shirts, beanies, shoes, sweaters, and tooth brush kits. Gobble Gobble Give is a community event and has become an incredible example of what a community can do to make change.
