Gotta hand it to the homies over at Grown Kids Radio. They are not only the purveyors of some of the dopest musically curated radio shows around, but they are also able to translate that same taste and energy into their live musical collabs.
This month GKR and our friends at SPARC, a medical cannabis and advocacy non-profit, are bringing along Exile and Johaz’s newest collaborative project — Dag Savage. Exile, whose lauded work with Aloe Blacc (Emanon), Blu, and Fashawn you should be familiar with, has teamed up with Underground scene-ster Johaz on a forthcoming Self Titled full length release on Dirty Science.
Linked above is just a taste of what’s in store on that album. The Aloe Blacc supported track, When It Rains, was covered in the recent past by one of our URB compatriots, @hurryupnbuy, and i’m sure that he’d stand by our assessment — its straight up Hip Hop with a touch of that California Soul.
Rounding out the show is Radius; the Chi-Town Native , whose line between hip hop, electronica, and all things in between, have helped to defined the well-travelled DJ’s set skills.
The show, in celebration of their upcoming collab, is being made free! Don’t remember to register early, as the event is set to begin promptly at 7PM TONIGHT! To sweeten the pot, SPARC is opening its doors to non card-carrying members with this RSVP link.
SPARC is located at 1256 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA.
