Someone recently tried to convince me that the RZA is a one trick pony, endlessly thumping the kung-fu drum like some sort of supreme poser. This person is basically the uncoolest person of all time. Because if you don’t love Robert Digg’s premium blend of Eastern philosophy and hip-hop swagger (and his awesome character arc on Californiacation), then you’re obviously missing that all important funky bone — and missing out on one of the most impressive singular artists of the past two decades. His directorial debut, The Man With The Iron Fist, is just the latest transmission from planted Wu. We’re already preparing for the next.
