Named after the 1975 black drama Cornbread Earl & Me and inspired by J. Dilla, Native Tongues and other Golden Age icons, Cornbread, Pearl & G the project finds Minneapolis’s Greg Grease expressing his love for his people, and painting a lyrical picture of the struggle, over the course of 16 original tracks. Joining Grease on the guest tip throughout CPG are fellow MNPLS reps Lizzo, Proper-T, Meta, I.B.E. and Ak Rite. The artist himself handles production duties, with help from Mike Frey, Mike Swoop and Musicians in Disguise. Cornbread, Pearl & G, which is available in both digital and physical formats.
