To start the week off right, T. Williams debuted his latest labour of love, and it was well worth all the blood, sweat & tears. The “Pain & Love” EP, out on PMR, opens with the slow-rolling gem “Think of You.” Tendai’s velvety voice drips thick from every longing note on the original which carries itself at a slow and dare-we-say sexy 110bpm, so we didn’t necessarily predict Tokyo-based producer Submerse as a likely choice for a remix. Here, however, he leaves his recent adventures in j-pop influences and midi-maximalism in favour of slowing things down to a reluctant pace, producing a sound fitting of L.A.’s glitched-out Brainfeeder crew but still sensual. Above, stream a leak of the original “Think of You,” and below we’re excited to offer Submerse’s remix as an exclusive download.
