You gotta give Deadmau5 credit, the hit-making producer puts his money where his cheese goes. After causing a stir last month by calling out fellow EDM stars for “pressing play” in his Rolling Stone cover interview, then going on to explain how the real talent of EDM producers is expressed in the studio rather than the stage, Joel Zimmerman decided head to the studio himself and record a track live in front of a web audience.
The resulting tune, “There Might Be Coffee,” was recorded live on a web stream in just over 12 hours. And while he expressed concern that the tune might sound ”too much like Swedish House Mafia,” he put it online for al to hear the (unmastered) results. The final tune will appear on Deadmau5′s fifth album, the mathematically challenged 4×4=12.
