When all the snow melts away, Montreal is a beautiful city in the summer and local promoters certainly know to take advantage of it while they can. The Piknic Electronik series of shows is exactly what it sounds like, an outdoor picnic in a park every weekend during the summer months, where you can show up, hang out, have fun and listen to some world-class DJs and producers. Tickets are only $12, and as it is a picnic you do have to bring some food for yourself, and a certain quantity of alcohol is permitted too (you can find out details at the website). This year’s Piknic programming starts May 20^th and runs all the way until September 30^th, and also features some collaboration with Mutek and Pop Montreal as well as two different stages. Piknic-goers this year can look forward to seeing Justin Martin, Claude VonStroke, Eats Everything, Nina Kraviz, Jacques Greene, Lunice, Machinedrum, Wolf + Lamb, Benoit & Sergio, Art Department, and many many more.
