WATCH Soul Clap Pull The Strings (Video)

In the greatest feat of dance music puppetry since Escort’s “All Through The Night“, globe-trotting RnB-tinged househeads Soul Clap have just unveiled a video from their soon-to-be-released debut album EFUNK in which muppet versions of the patchy-bearded Charles and baseball-capped Eli chill at the pool, get fresh in the DJ booth with a furry pink diva, and take the party to Mars where their human counterparts are ready to rage. “The Clapping Song” (feat. Baby Prince & The Fam) is as tightly wound as it is playful, a funky-but-minimal house track that, if the title is any clue, interpolates a classic break from The Meters. The album’s scheduled to drop April 20th on Wolf + Lamb (with singles coming April 1st), but to whet your appetite check out this 8 track primer on the Clap aesthetic.
