Justin Martin was the inaugural release on Claude von Stroke’s Dirtybird Records in 2005. Fast-forward seven years and he is embarking on his long anticipated solo album for the label, Ghettos & Gardens, in May.

Martin’s debut album comes following his consistent string of well received EPs and singles for labels including Dirtybird and Buzzin’ Fly. The juxtaposition of the album’s title is said to be reflective of its music, which the label says promises, “beautiful melodies, UK basslines, moody funk and devastating drops.”

Set for a May 22nd release, Martin will tour extensively in the US and Europe to support the album launch. For those headed to Miami you can catch him play his exclusive set of the week at Dirtybird’s BBQ showcase on March 22 at Villa 221 with special guest Phife Dawg, from A Tribe Called Quest, and fellow Dirtybird crew members Claude von Stroke, Leroy Peppers (Christian Martin), Worthy and many more.
