Somehow, Machinedrum (real name Travis Stewart) has managed to release even more music – not that we’re complaining. After his 2011 release of a handful of EPs, his own fantastic Room(s) LP, followed by the debut Sepalcure LP with Praveen Sharma a few months later, you might think he’d want to take a break. Instead, he’s hit the ground running in 2012 with his house-leaning SXLND EP on LuckyMe, a collaborative EP with Om Unit as Dream Continuum, and his latest endeavor, Nastyfuckk.
The Nastyfuckk EP, released on The Index, has Stewart showing more of his juke/footwork inclination in a darker way than before. Title track Nastyfuckk is an aggressive, growling number that, similar to his banger Alarmaa, seems difficult to drop into a set with ease, but guaranteed to blow minds if you succeed. What U Wanted 2 Feel is a haunting, faded slo-mo track that’s easy to leave on loop. The EP is rounded out with a take on Badawi’s No Schnitzel and a Pixelord remix of What U Wanted 2 Feel.
You can stream the entire EP over at Index’s soundcloud, and buy it here.
