James Blake‘s previous releases have been nothing to scoff at, but his vocals, while well-matched to his production style, have always felt a bit anemic. Which makes this remix of D’Angelo’s “Left & Right” off of Voodoo exactly what the Blake doubters have been looking for. It should come as no surprise that the newly-rejuvenated soul singer’s voice plays wonders across Blake’s mutant ambient dubstep sounds. Maybe D’A should consider JB to work on the new album allegedly coming soon.
