D’Angelo made what is being lauded as his comeback performance last week, after a 12 year absence from the stage. And judging from the audience videos that landed online, it seems that lightning may actually strike twice for the troubled performer. No half-ass Axl Rose comeback here.
Of course, it seems that R&B/Soul performers are just better at these sort of rebirths. Think about Sade, who took a decade long break between albums and tours, and still killed it on Soldier of Love. Check out the clips of D’Angelo performing two new tunes, “The Charade” and “Sugar Daddy,” in Stockholm, Sweden, after the jump, along with a new mixtape of live D’Angelo moments mixed by Sam Champ and posted by Okayplayer.
