LCD Soundsystem/Hot Chip Project Plan Album & Tour

New Build, the collaboration between LCD Soundsystem drummer Pat Mahoney and Hot Chip’s Al Doyle and Felix Martin have announced a pending full-length release and tour this spring. The album, entitled Yesterday Was Lived & Lost, is described as a dance record, with ”the eccentricities of artists such as the Human League, Peter Gabriel, Robert Wyatt, Chris & Cosey, Cabaret Voltaire and Eno.” It will show itself on Mar. 5 via Lanark Records. The group will hit the road as an eight-piece unit—we hope with Nancy Wang and Tyler Pope—this spring.

The group released their second, “Do You Feel Loved,” last month, with remixes from Dominik Eulberg and Juju & Jordash. You can hear all three versions and peep the tracklist after the jump.

hey there, just wanted to correct a couple of things – this is not an LCD/Hot Chip collaboration in any meaningful sense, I just happened to play (have played) in both bands. Also Pat Mahoney doesn’t play on this song or on this album in fact, just on one of our songs called “Guitar Man”. He played really well on that one though. And no, unfortunately Nancy, Tyler and Pat won’t be playing with us live, but if I could afford them and if they were available then obviously we’d have ‘em like a shot. But I can’t and they’re not.

best wishes, and thanks for the support,

    al doyle
