While a lot of giveaway tracks tend to be castoff material that wasn’t good enough to get signed, Australian producer Dro Carey’s mini-album that he released today via his tumblr is excellent. Of course, we wouldn’t expect anything less from the 19-year-old Carey (real name Eugene Hector), who put out the fantastic Journey with the Heavy on RAMP just this past December. Carey has hit the ground running this January, despite having had to cancel some dates of his first tour as a result of a recurring struggle with depression. In addition to the free EP, he also contributed URB’s first podcast of the year, which went up only five days ago. You can click here to download the 26-minute exclusive mix, which weaves through the selected tracks so fluidly that it’s over before you know it – it’s tempting to leave it on loop. Hopefully we’ll hear even more from Dro soon, and considering his recent output we shouldn’t have to wait long.
