The increasingly-inventive and intensive sounds of Sydney’s Dro Carey are highlighting URB’s first podcast of 2012. He is a mysterious figure, putting as much allusion in his musical work as his visual work, relaying a style that bends a prototypical genre and in some ways, just bastardizes it (in the most amazing way possible). Dro’s sounds at time can be strange and head-scratching, propogating conflicting rhythms and challenging sequences, but that’s really the ultimate charm of the DroC. Whether its his own tunes or the mix he’s done for URB, the man just knows how to push the right buttons in terms of not just making one really listen to what’s going on, but to analyze and accept it simultaneously. With releases currently out on Hum + Buzz, Trilogy Tapes and RAMP Recordings, the journery has only just begun for the young mysterioso. Check out the mix and tracklist after the jump.
