Based out of Chicago, Nigerian artist and musician Shala (formally of the innovative rap outfit Qualo, who you might remember from their underappreciated pseudo-hit “Pockets“) has long been known to URB, Chicagoans and fans alike as a jack-of-all-trades. His newest project— a satirical comic entitled “Seven Spoon“— follows an audacious, chic-beyond-her-years teen of the same name as she rants and raves about the current state of culture, society and the like.
Drawing comparisons to the bone-dry cynicism of Dilbert and Daria, Seven Spoon is the sharp-tongued voice of the new generation, a voice you’ll either instantly love or potentially hate. If it happens to be the former, you’re in luck—there are signature fitted tees, gallery prints, and canvas giclees of Seven’s quips available now. You can also subscribe to the site HERE and receive all the new pieces via e-mail if that’s your bag. Either way, look out for more Seven soon, as she’s undoubtedly here to stay.
