Social Science 1×01 – Ricky Reed of Wallpaper from Society Theory on Vimeo.
After a season’s hiatus, Two Side of Cool returns (to finally) finish off our coverage of Ricky Reed, of electro-future pop-funk band Wallpaper. The first episode covered Wallpaper beatmaker, Eric Frederic, also of Facing New York fame, with this season’s opener focusing on the the self proclaimed ‘hit-maker’ of the group, Ricky Reed.
Ricky Reed, the notorious Stupidfacedd wearing, Doo Doo Face causing, whirling dervish of a frontman was able to give us a little bit of time with us at a few events, including a session in San Francisco and his festival rocking appearance during Pensacola, Florida’s DeLuna Fest.
Returning to our ‘two-sides’ documentary vignette format, we were able to capture the two sides of Ricky Reed; Ricky moments before he jumps the stage and Ricky in a rare moment of relaxation on the beaches of Pensacola. Jump in during our conversation with Ricky Reed as he talks about his experience coming up as an artist from the SF Bay Area, speaks on the bliss of being Stupidfacedd, wax’s poetic about the realness that is Madden 94, and talks about what’s next on the menu as his hustle continues. Channeling our own inner Ricky Reed, all we can say is grab yourself a Tazo, mix up some Bailey’s, quit the reading, and get on with the viewing – (it’ll all make sense is you head on over to socialscience.tv for some outtakes after the break).
After completing a run with The Sounds, Wallpaper is currently on a US tour with Gym Class Heroes and The Dirty Heads. For more information take a gander at www.thisiswallpaper.com
