Castle I believe everything published made a ton of sense. However, what about this? what if you added a little content? I ain't suggesting your content is not solid., however suppose you added a post title to maybe grab folk's attention? I mean %B...

I comment whenever I like a post on a website or if I have something to add to the discussion. Usually it is caused by the sincerness displayed in the article I read. And on this article %BLOGTITLE%. I was actually moved enough to drop a commenta respo...

DJ Mystikle Blue should be on that list.

She's a DJ based in Birmingham UK. She's the first female DJ in the UK to reach the National finals of King of the Decks in 2010. She volunteers as a radio presenter, produces, sound engineers and sings. This girl should be on the list, she kills it everytime on the decks. Check this out

I agree that DJ mag voting has become a PR&popularity poll. However, I think the negative attitude of ppl (who claim to be elder fans of electronic music and blame the mechanics of this list) does not reflect the whole picture.
Skip Guetta, I do not like any part of his music or productions, in my opinion he is just a pop icon making collaborations with other pop icons using simple sounds. BUT, I think that it does not change the fact that he is an icon, and this simple fact makes him deserve a place in top 10 in that list. I mean, whether you and I like it or not, his music touches millions of people and that should be one of the most important parameters when it comes to rate a musician. (I am not saying thats all it is, but pls dont underestimate that)
On the other hand, Armin is a legend imo. You might not like Mirage album, you might blame him for losing his style etc. But ladies and gentlemen, this guy has been running a radio show, which has been an icon in the dance music community over the last decade and besides his kickass productions (pls admit that he has or at least he had lots of them), he is a figure of compilations. So, who has done more than him last year? Maybe you can come up with a couple names, but I believe it is unfair to blame these kind of producers like Armin with being popular or doing popular music.

There might be lots of talented DJ's, maybe some of them are more talented than Armin, Guetta, Tiesto etc,
Let's say, actually I am the biggest talent in the whole world (hypothetically), but I am the only one who knows it. So, is anyone to blame? Is Armin,Guetta,Tiesto to blame or is DJ Magazine to blame for that?

The logical fact is that the list is sensible because it reflects general opinion, whether you despise it or not.

PS: I love Cazacu

The ladies could school most of the men in this year's list. Just some favorites of my own...

Ladies with turntables, making global waves in more recent years (considering DJ skills, not production):
Cassy
Steffi
Cio D'or
Dasha Rush
Margaret Dygas
Maya Jane Coles
Ikonika
Mary Anne Hobbs (for her record crates alone)

Ladies with turntables, still owning it after all these years:
Miss DJax (for the headstrong)
Electric Indigo
Ellen Allien
Miss Kittin
Magda
DJ Heather
+ PLENTY more I'm missing...

+ SO MANY MORE ladies in your local regions not getting the global recognition they deserve.

...props to Peaches for blowing the whistle!
