Indio City Council chambers erupted with applause Wednesday night after the City Council approved 4-0 a two-year agreement with promoter Goldenvoice to hold the Coachella Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach country music festival at the Empire Polo Club. (the Desert Sun)

The issue of the the effects to the environment from festival goers and a request for a lengthy environmental check were solved as Goldenvoice proposed “‘monitoring by an independent third party of air quality, traffic and noise’ for the 2012 concerts”
