Stranger Day x Fugazi :: “Not Playin’”

This one is making my insides feel funny. About three weeks ago, I dragged and dropped Fugazi’s awesomely epic “Blueprint” from their amazing 1990 album Repeater, into my Serato folder. I wasn’t sure where/when I’d get a chance to play it, but something about Guy Picciotto’s vocals just seemed like it would rock the right room on the right night.

Now we have North Carolina MC Stranger Day linking up with Philadelphia-based beat maker Emynd (Gucci Mane, Diplo, Lil B from The Pack, Finland’s Top Billin crew, Them Jeans, Scottie B, Playboy Tre, G-Side and the Paper Route Gangstaz), looping the very Fugazi lyrics I’ve been raving to in my head, and laying down this surprising track from the album Barstool Bounce. And the most shocking part? Ian MacKaye apparently cleared the sample. Maybe it’s time to sell this blog and buy an MPC.
