Spank Rock :: “Energy” (prod. by Boys Noize) (MP3)

In this day of ultra-saturated online music, it seems hard to believe that some artist make us wait years to hear new music. Don’t they know how damaging that is to their SEO!?

Philly/Bmore/NYC rapper Spank Rock bust onto the scene in 2006 with the hella cool YoYoYoYoYo. At the time, Spank Rock the group consisted of Naeem Juan (ie- Spank Rock the rapper) and Alex (XXXChange) Epton. Five years later, and all we’ve heard from Juan is the 2007 EP Bangers & Cash, while XXXChange released a mix CD under the Spank Rock name for Fabric the same year.

Today, Spank Rock gave us the first taste of the sophomore album, Everything Is Boring And Everyone Is A Fucking Liar, with the Boys Noize produced “Energy.” Other contributors to the album, which comes out 9/13 on the group’s own Bad Blood label, include Pharrell, Squeak E. Clean from N.A.S.A., and Chris Rockswell on the beats, while  Santigold (“Car Song”) and Big Freedia (“Nasty”) add some vocal flavor.
