Tonight KiD CuDi & Dot Da Genius released a new track entitled “Perfect is the Word.” However, “Perfect is the Word” is more than a song. It is a sound. A sound that reminds me of perhaps what the revolutionaries and activists of the 70s would jam to if they were attune to the artists of today. This is exactly what today’s younger generations are unknowingly craving for. Music with a real message behind it. Something new and refreshing. Something original. Something that has not been copied and pasted in any shape or form.
Today the number of people that call themselves an “artist” is far too great. We have strayed away from it’s true meaning: a creator! CuDi is just that, a creator of sound, of emotion, of revelations, and of unity. It is not a coincidence that he is called “The Dreamweaver of Sounds” by his fans and peers.
Like all mediums of revolutionary art, especially art that is foreign which we are not familiar with, it requires the consumer to listen with a mature ear. Turn off all the music that you’ve heard before that may be streaming through your head (especially on the radio), and listen with an ear that is ready to hear a movement in the form of real art. Absorb each element – the bass, the electric guitar, the programmed drums, and the strings – as they come together to deliver this extraordinary SOUND.
