Several months after teasing us with snippets used in NBA commercials, Justice is finally letting us here the full version of “Civilization,” the first single as their yet untitled asecond album due this fall on Ed Banger. And they have a radical video to go with it.
The song takes the french duo’s electrified sound in a slightly more rock direction, complete with some serious stadium rock analog riffage and vocals by an as yet unnamed singer. The video, directed by photographer/graphic designer/short film maker Edouard Salier offers up a sort of ancient, desert, Planet of the Apes landscape where stampeding buffalo are crushed by gigantic falling statues of unknow origins. Very cool.
The “Civilization” single is available on iTunes today. The EP will be released on June 6th, with remixes from Mr. Oizo and The Fucking Champs.
