I’ve been going to this festival for a long time and you will see me and the other dirtybird crew walking around from stage to stage. Come say hi for sure. This year there are so many great acts to see. Here is what i am excited for (not including any of the billion afterparties). And this is totally subjective, of course.
Saturday
Typical day where we want to see everyone at the same time. It would be hard to pass up seeing the master sound manipulator Richard Devine at 8:30. The DnB head in me will always gravitate toward catching the Goldie set at 9:30 but Marc Houle never disappoints and he is at 9. If were feeling more soulful that day I definitely wouldn’t miss Kerri Chandler at 8pm. Earlier in the day you have to see JPLS at 3pm—guy is sick. Mike Servito has been DJing in Detroit since before I made music and he will also be great at 3:30.
Sunday
Com Truise for sure at 1pm. He’s chill but this is a really early slot for him. Pop over to Sammy Dee at 2, who also got a very early set time in my opinion. I like these guys Livio and Roby at 4:30. I played with them in Norway once. They make some cool stuff.
It gets tricky at 6 where Detroit diehards must see Ryan Elliot, but i will have a hard time staying away from the Soul Clap show. After that it’s probably time to grab a bite as I’ve seen Sven Vath a bunch before, but maybe Martin Buttrich could be cool. Either way, it’s all going down at 10pm with the motherfucking Gaslamp Killer. This guy is the shit. I will be there in the front row I promise you that. Truthfully, after that, I have to jet over to our after-party to see my homegirl J Phlip open up at Bleu just up the street. But if was staying there, I’d probably have to catch Carl Craig close it out.
Monday
Clark Warner at noon. He sent out a really great mix last year that I had on repeat for a while. At 3pm, if Terrence Parker is still DJing with the telephone as his headphones [he is—ed.] thats the man to see. Another favorite of mine, Ramadanman is at 4pm. This guy could play main stage at 11pm as far as my taste in concerned. Raw talent there. I’ll hit up the super talented Scuba for 30min at 7pm but then I’m rushing over to my main homie, Justin Martin at 7:30. I know he has an amazing set planned. I will not be leaving that no matter what!!.
Around 9pm is like a war for attention. Shlomi Aber will be finishing up and I’ll try to see the end of that after Justin. If you have never seen Green Velvet live then you have to go there around 9. He will make you get down. If you are a Detroit purist then you must go see Claude Young at 9:30. My friend James Zabielia also needs a Detroit welcome at 9:30, one of the nicest guys in the business. After that, Flying Lotus is at 10:30. And if that gets really really weird (and I’m not smoking anything) I might been seen goofing around at Fatboy Slim…just saying.

No matter what you go see please enjoy the festival. People work really hard on it and it is awesome! If you feel like popping into our dirtybird party Sunday night info is here.
