Enigmatic Chilean-German DJ/producer Ricardo Villalobos has been added to the Movement Detroit line-up. The “secret artist” was announced via the Movement website. Villalobos will perform at 7pm this Sunday, May 28 on Movement’s main stage. He will also appear Sunday night on the Voyage Royale: I’m on a Boat 3 afterparty featuring Sven Väth, Loco Dice vs. Stacey Pullen and Matthew Hawtin on Sunday night following his Movement set. Villalobos last performed in Detroit during DEMF 2002 weekend, at both Richie Hawtin’s Control 2 party, as well as Paxahau’s PEMF event at Panacea nightclub. The international superstar is legendary as much for his absence in the states as his revered minimal techno style. Villalobos was announced to play at Movement in 2010, but had to cancel due to visa issues.
