Two totally different artists have one common goal, bring awareness to their community of fans and bridge the gap to stop the hatred. Two emcees who sound nothing a like have one common goal, which is uncommon to say the least, I was really excited when I caught two videos that could be compared in the right attitude of it all.
Bekay covers the Holocaust and Y Love covers unity in a more pop fashion of Jewish attitude. Both videos are awesome.
If you peep the story line with Bekay, notice how theatrics are a great way to compose a message without actually saying “hey watch me because this is good or humanity.” The video, which was shot in Czech Republic, included a bunch of non-Jewish actors and actresses to re-enact what was the most horrifying act of terror and genocide in the world of all time.
In Y Love’s video notice how the cast of people within the video are form all different creeds/colors, from black jews from brooklyn, to Nuyoricans from lower manhattan and the bronx to israelis in keffiyahs. The message in unity is diversity.
I am reviewing two different artists with the same goals in their videos to unify the viewer and fans of their own to learn about two different artist. (tongue twister i know!)
Y Love’s “See Me” EP has just been released and featured on the front page of Itunes hip hop section and
Bekay’s video “Remember,” was just released during the week Yom Hashoah, which is Holocaust remembrance day. Hope you enjoy the videos and share with peers, colleagues, friends and family.
