Everyone’s favorite retro-flavored soul brother Mayer Hawthorne has poked his head back into the spotlight after a few months of quiet, with a free EP of cover tunes performed by himself and his band The County. The group takes a hearty stab at ELO’s “Mr. Blue Sky,” Isley Brothers’ 1972 groove-thang “Work to Do,” and Chromeo’s more recent yet equally stylish “Don’t Turn the Lights On.” Check out “Mr. Blue Sky” here, and downlaod the whole EP after the jump.
