Remember when rap videos were bold enough to include guns, heists (at gunpoint), realistic cat fights, screenshots of female killers (including one from a Goya painting and Harriet Tubman?), ample middle fingers, girls leaning over to showcase what lies below those low cut jeans and dared to feature a song with the word “murder” in the title? Videos that force you to keep a finger on the remote and an eye on the door in case your grandma walked in – where are you? (Die Antwoord, you sit down, man.)
Well that entire combination actually never realized until now…
Taking time away from his day gig in Atari Teenage Riot, our favorite bug glasses and mohawked producer CX KiDTRONiK (with MC Cinque McCray aka 4. 5th) shuffles past the current BET presets with this crack game banger from the soon-to-be-released Krak Attack 2: Ballad Of Elli Skiff (on Stones Throw):
The album “promises to be the most contagiously-catchy, adrenalizing, genre-busting album of the year. Featuring guests including Deee-Lite’s Lady Miss Kier, DOOM, Ramm:Ell:Zee and Alec Empire and Nic Endo of Atari Teenage Riot, it’s the thinking man’s mosh pit music. ‘It’s got speed metal, gabber and ballads,’ says CX. ‘It’s the craziest shit Stones Throw has ever put out.’”
