GOVERNOR’S BALL / Jun 18, 2011 (New York City)

A brand new event taking place on New York’s Governor’s Island, a spot best known for the summit between Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev (who most of the attendees probably don’t even remember). With only 11 acts and no overlapping performances, it almost sounds more like a big concert rather than a “festival” as we’ve come to know them. But with Big Boi, Pretty Lights, Girl Talk and Emprie of the Sun all scheduled, maybe quality over quantity is a smart move.
