Nothing more important than elevating your show from a private gig at Metro the year before, to a humongous theatre with not even the entire Wu Tang Clan and two of Chicago’s most prime representatives; Que Billah and Che “Rhymefest” Smith.
At $25 tickets, the cheapest tickets of the entire tour, Wu Tang Clan became a sort of jam band fan base for the midwerst drawing people out from all over the country on low ticket costs giving hometown hero Que Billah the opportunity to shine with his entire live squad. We’re talking prayers, rock n roll, r n b , soul, the Verzatile band, and that good ol’ Chicago vibe. Be sure to catch him on February 4th with Talib Kweli at The Shrine in Chicago w/ Verzatile band. He was Source Unsigned Hype 5 years ago, but this year there is no reason for hype. He is the truth in his performance.

Along the way he brought up some friends that got to spit some freestyles for thousands. Wow. This is one big hip hop cypher.Imagine how many people were rapping in the crowd vibing out! Que Billah says the Wu tang got their clan, and he got his. That is a pretty powerful statement to say to nearly 5000 people! Peep the freestyles from Fat Boi Fresh, Alias John Brown, and Kosha Dillz.

After Rhymefest gave his annoucement for political movement @ The Congress (ironically) and showed Chicago why Kanye West has him write freshness, old school hip hop youngin’ LA the Darkman, who has been signed to Wu Tang over 10 years (and he still isn’t 30 years old yet) rocked out to a hungry Wu crowd with M-Eighty.
I gotta say my favorite performance of the night or everytime I see Wu Tang was with Method Man. He usually walks completely into the crowd and steps all over everyone, but this was perfect enough.
After all this mayhem, it wouldn’t be complete without some random drunken fights on the way out the door.
