Now rarely do I make my way over to the “Culture” tab on URB’s wordpress to create a new post, but I’ve recently been so enthralled in an artist’s work that I was compelled to share her talent with my readers (reader..sup mom). A Ohio native that currently resides in B-More, 23 year-old Janie Korn has a knack for satirical, pop culture-savy hipster humor that seems to be lacking these days as—let’s face it— hipsters aren’t funny. But be assured Janie’s caricature-esque illustrations are hilarious and insightful, whether they are built upon an absurd play-on words, or Korn’s observant wit. Or if they are just plain weird. Either way, the Goucher alum’s drawings are as strangely appealing as they are impressive—One look at her website, and you’ll be sucked into the comically angsty, cynically matter-of-fact world of Ms. Janie Korn.
