1. Ramadanman – Glut (Hemlock)
You can dispute it any way, shape or form, but 2010 was THE YEAR of Ramadanman. From putting out an astounding self-titled EP on the amazing Hessle Audio label, to going house-crazy with fellow producer Midland on a collaborative release for AUS Music, to even dropping by SWAMP81 to “Work Them”, it was a fruitful year to anyone who’s a fan of David Kennedy. However, his landmark release of 2010 is without question on Untold’s Hemlock label, where he put out the absolute floor-smasher that is “Glut”. The first time I heard it was in 2009 and immediately the crowd was stunned at every single thing that the track threw at them, and to this day the tune carries the same effect across the world. Simply put, this tune does not die, and I don’t think it ever will. Whilst Ramadanman is still going strong, it seems like Kennedy’s alternate alias, Pearson Sound will peek his head more often in 2011, flexing his production muscles in every which way possible, and we’re certainly looking forward to where that takes us. Either way, it’s sure to be epic.
