Christmas used to be a time for family, when even the Internets would more or less grind to a halt in difference to grandma’s cooking. But this year, three top acts in the indiesphere decided to put gifts under the digital tree.

The most well-publicized gift came from Damon Albarn and his Gorillaz crew, who released a huge 14 song album, The Fall, recorded almost entirely on Damon’s iPad while on tour. Prolific to say the release. You can get it at http://thefall.gorillaz.com/

More new music comes courtesy of Klaxons, who released the long-awaited Landmarks of Lunacy EP on www.Klaxons.net. These five songs were taken from the now infamous 2008 recording sessions with James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco which the band set aside before going off to record their second album, Surfing the Void, with Cali nu-metal veteran Ross Robinson.

Finally, Yeasayer let loose a strirring concert release, Live at Ancienne Belgique, via a pay-what-you-want system ala Radiohead. Tis the season for giving I guess. Grab it at http://yeasayer.net/xmas/
