“Snow Globe”: Your Favorite Song You’ve Never Heard (MP3)

Back when I was a 16 year-old noob in this “industry” (aka 4 years-ish ago), I had the privilege of sharing an office with a company called We Can’t Stop Thinking, which is made up of a great group of guys who are more than likely response for the design of one website or another you have browsed upon. From what I could see, WCST were as cool as a group of 20-something white guys could be, but as I later discovered, they were so much more. One of the guys, Nick Scimeca, was a budding musician/producer, and had created a side project with a then lesser-known (but still pretty damn famous) Travie McCoy brilliantly titled Tequila Mockingbird. When I first became aware of the group’s existence, I was expecting more of the Fueled By Ramen, emo-alternative sound I had never been particularly drawn to (WCST were best buddies with Pete Wentz, Plain White T’s and the like) . But then I heard “Snow Globe,” which featured a rapper (and friend) I worked for at the time, the charmingly vulgar Mic Terror. The song was reminiscent of Terror’s Chicago smash “Juke Them Hoes,” but maintained an individual swagger and sense of humor— I fell in love as soon as I heard it. I began to share the song with all my friends (without telling Nick and co., I was way too embarrassed), barking at them to “shake it like a snow globe” and promising them that the track would be a viral hit. But for whatever reason the song never had a proper release, and my dreams to shake it like a snow globe at my junior prom were crushed. So now, as I sit here browsing my e-mails and listening to the hit that never was, I realize that it is my sworn duty to share this song with my readers (or reader…). So, without further a due, I present Tequila Mockingbird’s “Snow Globe,” featuring Mic Terror.
