There were times when it seemed like it would never come, but today’s the day that Daft Punk’s soundtrack to TRON Legacy hits the streets, with the film only 10 days behind. Today we also got the official video for, “Derezzed,” pretty much the only piece of music on the film score that offers up that Daft Punk dance music energy.
Of course, this song has also been online the longest, with a semi-official video that’s been floatig aroun since October, featuring footage from the film. Which makes this new clip more of an exercise in indulgent nostalgia. Starting with a 60 second intro segment (the track is only 1:44 to begin with), the robots take a wild ride through the original TRON ’80s computer-scape before things go completely off-script from any TRON we’ve seen before. It’s a nifty re-imagining to commemorate the re-imagining of an imaginative film franchise. And Olivia Wilde is hot.
