Interview: Soulja Boy (Video)

Once called “the most hated man in hip-hop,” Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Way, has proven himself as quite a force to be reckoned with. Whether you love him or hate him, numbers don’t lie, and Soulja’s (as he constantly reminds us in his music) are quite impressive. Starting from scratch in 2004, Soulja generated his own hype by posting his songs and videos across the web, and soon enough was offered a deal by Interscope. These days, the rapper-producer has been in the studio with everyone from Kanye to Bieber, and his career, which many predicted would be short-lived, shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. I got a chance to sit down with the creator of the legendary “Crank That” (yes, I said legendary), where we talked his humble beginnings, his love for donks, and his new album, The DeAndre Way.
