They say Jimi Hendrix used to play guitar while sitting on the toilet. Sometimes I wonder if Dam-Funk doesn’t do the same thing with his keytar. How else can you explain the insane amount of music this dude has put out over the past two years? Either way, someone ought to tell this to the Stones Throw art dept, but the idea could make a great record sleeve.
First up is a little unreleased instrumental ditty. Not much info except Mr. Funk’s own explanation:
“Just a lil’ somethin’ recorded in Ladrea Heights…my new resting place. Feel free 2 glyde 2 it. Peace & happy holidays.” – DâM-FunK”

The second cut is off an upcoming compilation of music by former JB drummer Tony Cook. The album, Back To Reality, focuses on Cook’s 1982-1986 rare and unreleased recordings of what would be called “the Granddaddy of all House Records.” That set comes out Jan 25th.
