Michael Jackson & Akon, “Hold My Hand” + Tracklist off Michael’s New Album (MP3)

The single for Michael Jackson’s upcoming album, Michael was released today in the wee hours of the morning and luckily I don’t sleep; so take the chance to hear it before you head on out for the morning commute. This song was recorded two years ago and was planned to be the single for Michael’s upcoming album which would explain the Akon duet. For those skeptics, there is a handwritten letter written from Michael which is now in the hands of his estate proving this. The song had even leaked but the final production was completed by Akon after Michael’s death. As for the song itself, well I disliked it at first, warmed up to it during the fourth play and by the eighth play I was kind of confused — I’m not sure if I want to dislike it because of Akon or because I think the song is just ok.

Also, there was this major drama going on around the internet last week regarding the first song, “Breaking News” that leaked off of Michael about whether or not Michael sang it or not. I assume a lot of fans and people were so skeptical that the label turned the song into a Law and Order episode complete with forensic musicologists, letters from producers (the alibi) and a letter coming from the estate lawyer proving it’s authenticy. All this is according to Entertainment Weekly and the conspiracy theorists lurking the webs. Michael Jackson lives not only in his musical legacy but the scandals we make about him even after his death.Viva Michael!
