For some reason, I always get Digitalism and Simian Mobile Disco confused in my head. Not that it’s so surprising. Both outfits came out around the same time in the mid-’00s, both are a duo, both rode in on the blog-house wave, and it appears that both are on a similar release schedule. So while SMD delivered a new track last week, now it’s Digitalism’s turn, dropping their first new track in three years in preparation for an album to come in 2011.

The video for “Blitz” juxtaposes some pastoral parks and leaves footage with lots of thriving club shots. Apparently the difference being the presence of the hi-hats in the track. Not exactly high art, but still better than the new LCD Soundsystem video.
