I got to see Reggie “Nobody Famous” Perry perform at USC’s fall-fest a couple weeks ago with J.Cole. He had them college kids waving and bobbing to his own renditions of Kanye’s “Flashing Lights” to Outkast’s “ATLiens.“ Nobody Famous recently answered acouple questions regarding the ATL music scene, his new workshop for aspiring hip hop artists, and his Project Generation D. More on this past URB intern after the jump!

How is the Georgia music scene like right now?
The music scene is poppin’ and of course ATL has always been that way for a while now, but now a lot of the new comers are getting a lot of love as well. A3C is coming up, and pretty much everyone in the indie hip-hop scene will be there, I am loving it right now!
Is it what influenced you to make your new “I need peers: John Edwards edition” beat mixtape?
I am always making beats, when I have the time to anyway, and I wanted to release a beat tape that had some sort of theme to it. I was going to name my album “I Need Peers” so this was a project that would have been leading up to it.

And why John Edwards?
No real reason, I actually named a track “Being John Edwards” and once I finished the tape I was like…well, John seems as if he need some peers, especially after his whole ordeal, lol.
What collaborations are you involved with right now? And, Is there an artist(s) you feel deserves a shout out?
I just finished an EP with my homie from the A, Skinny-C. That dropped this Tuesday (October 5th) so be on the look out for that at skinny-c.bandcamp.com. I am also about to start working with Pinot, a funk band I play with out of LA on my first solo album.
Your Project D Generation is expanding, I’m so happy for you! How is the future of the program looking as of right now? Do you plan on staying in Georgia or branching out?
The future is extremely bright for PGD, I am very excited about it. I am looking to branch out into 4-5 other states for the 2011-2012 school year and hopefully take the program nationwide over the next 5 years. I also want to provide an online spot for teens to learn their respective arts, collaborate, and bounce ideas off each other as well.
Your not only performing at the A3C Hip Hop Festival tonite, but your also going to be holding a “Next Up!” workshop for Aspiring Hip Hop Artists on Sunday. How did that come about? And are there any requirements and or fee to join?
Yep, a busy week! lol. Well, the wifey is working withA3C this year and we both saw an opportunity for PGD to get its foot in the door, especially with a lot of the pro audio companies, so I drew up a plan, she presented it and it was a wrap. The workshop will be free to attend for teens who are interested in attending, and of course A3C attendees who already purchased tickets are welcomed as well.
Man, your a busy guy, juggling a new family, producing, and I read through the Kevin Nottingham site that your dropping a new album soon. Is it done or are you still working on it? And, what can we expect to hear?
Yep, very busy. The new album won’t be out until about spring or summer of 2011. I will be working with the band to recreate all the beats I made and creating a complete project from top to bottom. It may take a while, but its coming!
