Canadian caveat Woodhands have been doing big things, travelling cross-county, city and country touring their asses off for their latest album Remorescapade. I remember talking to them a while back about the music they loved and could wish they could share more with their fans and the public; which was essentially mainstream and crunk-filled rap. With that gangsta-fire within them, the duo made a brilliantly done mixtape (with their Woodhands bravado on top) for URB to give away to the world as an exclusive. Woodhands take on “NO FEELINGS”

“We’ve wanted to make something free for our fans for awhile, and what better vehicle than the hip hop mixtape that’s become a staple in our van stereo while on the road? We called it ‘No Feelings’ because we basically took all of my anguished vocals out of it and turned these songs into stripped down bangers. Since the start we’ve always gravitated towards those kinds of beats and we often build our songs from the drums up so that they hit harder.

And we think these rappers have it right – there’s nothing better than to give free music away to your fans while also not worrying about clearing samples. We did it in reverse though: instead of rapping over other people’s beats, we made beats and grabbed acappellas – along with some help from our friends. Personally, I think that Ludacris should probably hire us as his backing band and B.o.B. should hire us to do his production…but we’ll wait and see how this thing is received before making any more powerful suggestions.”
