The now-trio of mysterious musicians that embody Darkstar are finally geared to release their long-awaited debut album on Hyperdub. After a string of successful singles, “Need You/Squeeze My Lime” and “Aidy’s Girl Is A Computer”, the group pushes their full-length feature after a lengthy space between their last single. Embracing something refreshingly different from the world of bass that surrounds Hyperdub at the moment, the group went through a phase of musical identity crisis and thankfully found their niche in making rich, deviously dark electronic pop music. North will be released in October worldwide, but in the meantime, check out their video for the single, “Gold”, an emotionally-driven take on The Human League’s “You Remind Me Of Gold”.
