Do you ever hear a song you swear you’ve heard but have no idea where? You see it posted on people’s facebook, hear it on high schoolers myspaces, and then as a ringtone. It itches for hours until you realize that the mainstream blogosphere is blowing up over a club jam you’ve heard from the beginning of the year and then you go wowww. This just happened over Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP’s song “We No Speak Americano”, the jazz house funk hit back in March and suddenly got new legs because the peeps from Jersey Shore made a video where they are all jamming out to it, fist pumping, dipping etc. Not going to lie it seems so strange yet exciting that soccer moms, frat and sorority humanoids and possibly Conservatives will be dancing to such an exciting ‘alt’ song. Even weirder that Jersey Shore is a tastemaker, then again the show soundtrack didn’t completely suck. I guess this is this years “Calabria”!
