I first met Willy Joy when I saw him open up for Yelle at the Logan Square Auditorium in 2007. It’s now 2010 and Willy has recently wrapped up his four year party Fly By Night; played tour DJ for Kid Sister; opened up for Deadmau5; played along Digitalism and recently went from NY to LA in less than a week. If you were to ask many people around the city about Willy they would probably tell you that he is one of the nicest and humblest of people; despite an exhausting schedule which would drive people into becoming a total grinch. He even found time to make us a mix for our readers on a plane!
Willy is currently on tour this fall with tour dates in Paris, Brussels and London along with several US Dates promoting his Heavy Bass Champions of The World Vol. X, which he collaborated on with Rob Threezy. When we crowned him a top 100 to watch, we sure were on the money. Willy despite a near four year sprint has no signs of slowing down or retiring in Palm Springs anytime soon.
