We’ve written here before that the greatest music video of all time might just be New Order’s “Confusion.” The clip was shot as the band club-hops though New York’s infamous early’80s venues, including The Paradise Garage and The Funhouse. Apparently the UK four-some did more than party at these legendary clubs, as this ancient bootleg  of an actual gig at the Paradise Garage confirms.

There’s also a great vintage NME article about the tour, although one should be warned the ’80s UK music journalism was written in a special cadence that can be difficult for the modern blog reader to master. Kinda like Shakespeare. Best line:

solemn reminder of the week's true (and only) event. Rows of Saville-ian
stark New Order posters, as if surveying with distaste the goings on below.
  The heat is unbearable, wet and enveloping.
