Outside Lands San Francisco: End of the Weekend (Quick) Brief (Video)

Outside Lands festival has come and gone and before i pass out from the enormous consumption of food and wine, here is a quick brief of the weekend. Keep in mind there was so much going on this weekend that not everything is going to be here. As a matter of fact, it’s probably going to be in a further blog post when we’re fully rested.

1. Kings Of Leon as headliners
2. Quinn Deveaux and the Blue Beat Review
3. The Strokes
4. Al Green
5. Cat Power
6. Gogol Bordello
7. Garage a Trois
8. Nas & Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley

Kings Of Leon as headliners

Ok, I like the Kings of Leon. And even though, media access was strict and photographers, including myself, had to be lined up and counted off just to enter the photo pit, I was still excited about their set.

But after watching their performance, I really don’t know what to say about it. In short, Kings of Leon had a good show: the crowd was into them, they played everybody’s favorite songs, and we even played “sing-a-long with the band.”

But after the last song fireworks, I sadly have to admit, it wasn’t a great show. It was more of a “that’s a good song…..that’s another good song…oh, another good Kings of Leon song” and then it was over.

I wonder how different it would be if they weren’t the headlining act.
