Cajmere – “Percolator” (Claude Von Stroke Remix) EXCLUSIVE (MP3)

Some tracks just never fade. When Curtis Jones (aka Cajmere, aka Green Velvet) dropped “Percolator” in 1992, few would expect this bouncy booty house number would survive past a few novelty plays that summer. 18 years later and the cut has thrived across the dance music spectrum—from Detroit techno parties and European raves to Chicago juke gigs and B’more blowouts. Back in 2003, Jones gave his classic hit a few remixes of his own. But 2010 marks the first time other producers have laied legitimate hands on the stems. So now there’s versions by Major Lazer, DJ Chuckie, Claude Vonstroke, Riva Starr, Bad Boy Bill, Mixin Marc, DJ Gantman and Cajmere himself to be had Aug. 30th on the regular outlets (Beatort, iTunes, Traxsource).

URB has an exclusive taste of “Percolator” 2010 with Claude Von Strokes strutting and stuttering remix. Plus the video released last night of Cajmere’s own update. The video features Kid Sister, DJ Gantman, Footworkingz and Future Funk. And if you recognize the jerking toddlers in the video, then you’ve been wathcing America’s Got Talent.

Also out now is a new album, It’s Time, compiling some of the the more obscure versions and remixes from Cajmere’s storied Cajual record label—including some of our secret faves like Terence FM’s “Stay Around” and Juan Maclean fave, Dajae’s “Say You Will.”
